I agree with your perspective on Nike wanting to promote a positive message through an already well known controversy and being able to create profit, but I think that the main objective for Nike was publicity. The brand does represent equality through their advertisements and commercials, but I think that this message will always be relevant. Therefore, they could have created and released similar videos earlier in time. This does not I mean that Nike does not support the fight against inequality because they also took a risk in sharing their voice on this issue, but I think that they strategized their timing so that more people would see their videos, resulting in publicity and profit.

I agree with your point in regards to the video promoting young people's voting, although I think that the video would be very effective for this cause.. I think that the harsh tones and comments displayed and said in the video will prompt young people to vote rather than the opposite because if young people tend to defy the advice of elders, they would want to prove a point by voting to show that they are relevant in elections. Overall, I see the same perspective as you do, that the video encourages voting, but I think that it is very effective in making young people think twice about voting rather than remaining silent.

I agree with your view on the importance of deciphering real from fake news since anyone can easily make up lies and share it, especially with modern day technology and internet. I also agree that this has made it more difficult for people to understand what is true and what is false because there can be many different points made on one topic. Another point that you mentioned that I agree with is that deciding whether or not something is fake may be more important in some situations than others. I also liked the methods of deciphering which you included, because major or minor, I think that fake news can be harmful and should be avoided.

I really liked your points made on cultural appropriation. Some of the points that I am glad were highlighted are: cultural costumes would be made with accuracy if they were to be flattering, they would not be worn on a day meant for funny and- for lack of a better word -weird costumes, and that the majority of people who do wear these costumes do not intend to be insulting or disrespectful. I particularly liked the last mentioned point because these people can be misunderstood and regarded as disrespectful when they may not realize the discomfort which they cause. To dissuade people from wearing these costumes, I think that the idea of educating and exposing the issue to people is very important. Also, I liked that this idea is stressed through saying that people should be taught this at a young age, and when they are aware of the problem, to share what they know with others.

I enjoyed reading your blog post about an issue relevant to young people, which you were also able to personally reflect upon. I agree with your points because many of the changes made may save the government expenses, but they cost the freedom of students. I liked that you included a personal factor in saying that you are an artist and would require this credit to take past high school. This goes to show that some courses being cut or limited are greatly valued by particular individuals or groups, and if they are not available, some student's dreams may require more effort to achieve. Overall, I liked your final blog because is shows how it is personal to you, and how this issue covers many areas, affecting all students.
